LTISD School Information

Quality of education is one of the most important factors when moving to a new area. As a local neighborhood expert, I can help you evaluate schools in the area that meet your unique needs due to fact that I am currently one of the Directors for the Lake Travis Education Foundation and I also have children enrolled in LTISD.

Lake Travis ISD on Monday, August 24th, welcomed more than 8,800 students pre-k through twelfth grade through the front doors of our schools to begin the 2015-2016 school year. The start of a new school year is an exciting time because of the energy of the students, staff, parents and community members. On the academic front, Lake Travis ISD recently received their 2015 accountability ratings from the Texas Education Agency. They are pleased to inform you that LTISD “Met Standard” across the board, scoring far above state benchmarks in student achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps and postsecondary readiness. LTISD ranks among the best public school systems in Central Texas.

Lake Travis ISD has had a busy summer preparing for the new school year, both inside and outside the classroom. Most notably, each of the campuses received needed upgrades and maintenance while major work continued at the LTHS Annex while improvements have been completed at Hudson Bend Middle School, West Cypress Hills Elementary School, and the New Lake Travis Middle School as part of the District’s 2012 Bond program. These projects will allow the district to accommodate the continued increase in student enrollment.

The school board approved new elementary and middle school attendance zone boundaries effective for the 2014-2015 school year. The process officially began in March 2013—almost a year and a half in advance of when the new boundaries take effect. Lake Travis ISD did this for a couple of reasons: first, in preparation for the opening of new facilities in the fall of 2014 and 2015, and second, to provide families with sufficient information about the new boundaries and ample time to prepare for the changes ahead.
